When we went into lockdown in March 2020 I set up online meetings via Zoom. Networking hour online is just that. One hour of online networking starting with very brief introductions followed by dividing the attendees into Breakout rooms for discussion and networking in smaller groups of 5/6.
We then return to the ‘main room’ to hear from our 15-minute guest speaker who will talk about an item that is topical and useful to those attending.
In addition to a networking hour online I also run Ad hoc Women’s hour meetings and around 3 times a year Women Inspiring Women online.
These events are about building new business connections, creating trust, picking up ideas, and growing your business. Like face to face online networking makes it easier to meet new people who you might otherwise not meet providing you with opportunities to meet people who may be influential in your area or further afield. Like face-to-face networking online you can continue to network when you are not local to the area or unable to travel due to isolating etc.
Business is ever-evolving and changing, going out and meeting others helps to keep you up to date on what other businesses are doing. It’s a great form of market research and it helps you understand how other similar businesses overcome challenges. It’s also good to help others by sharing your experiences.
This is very important possibility in furthering your career. Networking also provides a platform to meet potential clients and have conversations with people you might otherwise not come across in your day to day work. Building your business connections is key in growing your business.
By attending on a regular basis you can build a trustworthy reputation. Being generous in sharing your knowledge can help your business. Remember people buy from people they like.
There are no membership fees to pay and the various meetings are booked via Eventbrite on a PAYG basis. If you come along to a face-to-face meeting claim your free place at one of the virtual meetings.

There is no ongoing commitment at Tricia’s networking events. No membership fees, no joining fees yet the quality and regular quantity of people who attend are a testament to their value and effectiveness. I have attended her monthly breakfast events for several years and now regularly attend the quarterly Ladies Lunches in Manchester or Cheshire. The contacts I have made have led to long-standing, supportive working relationships which stand the test of time.
I’ve know Tricia for years and she runs some of the best networking events going. She manages to get a great cross section of people attending her events regularly.
